Will adding images to your blog effect your search engine position?

I’m worried about adding images to my blog because I’m afraid it will effect my search engine position. I was thinking about adding images to the top left hand corner of each posting which is of course before the text.

It won’t hurt you, and it could actually help you. When I include images on my blog, that are hosted on my server, sometimes it brings traffic from image searches.

Also, images help the usability of your web site. Sites with just a bunch of text can be a turnoff. You’ll want to keep all that awesome traffic coming to your site. Welcome them with a well-placed image.

Be sure to include alt text to help the search engines know what the image is all about.
